1937 ½d prepaid and uprated plain postcard (flight was 2nd Jan 1938) sent from Dunedin and flown on the flight from Auckland -San Francisco by Pan American Airways Sikorsky S-42B Flying Boat NC-16734 "Samoan Clipper" commanded by Captain Edwin Musick. Auckland cancels and special red boxed handstamp on the front and San Francisco receiving cancel on the reverse. Stapleton 178.c. Some light toning around the stamps.
